Pop

On Friday March 1st, my Mom and stepdad, Bill, celebrated their 10 year anniversary. Just two days later on Sunday, he went out that morning to get the paper, had a massive heart attack and died. Our shock and sadness knows no bounds. I am so sad that Parker, Emma Jane, and Hannah Kate will not to get to see Pop again. I am sad that Baby #4 won't get to meet him. I am heart broken for my mother. He was a wonderful man. He loved being silly with the girls. They had all sorts of little funny jokes between them all. He was kind and compassionate. He loved his children and grandchildren, and most of all he loved my mother and made her happy after a long period of her being not happy. He thought she was wonderful, and he was right of course.
I have been fortunate not to have a lot of family members die during my lifetime. A sudden death like this has its own set of sadness. No one got to say goodbye. Nothing was prepared. No one was prepared.
Jason did the funeral service and that was special. My doctor fortunately said I could fly to Charlotte which I was very thankful for so I could be there with my family.
Naturally none of us understand why this has happened nor will we ever. Telling Parker and Emma Jane Pop had died was really hard. They have two very different reactions. Emma Jane just cried and cried and has talked about it everyday since. Parker just sort of bottled up all her emotions and then had a breakdown a few days later. We have had lots of talks about heaven and why Pops heart broke, lots of questions about what Pop is doing in heaven and if he is sad. The great thing about Parker and Emma Jane is that we told them they would see Pop again in heaven and they were completely satisfied with that answer and happy about it. To have the faith of a child....
We will miss Pop greatly.

He was trying to match Paker's expression
