How are the babies?

Enough with all this cuteness already! Tell me how the babies are doing.
Okay.
Overall the girls are doing well. They have five main goals right now: Eat, Poop, Sleep, breathe without O2, and Grow. They are doing well with the first three, but are being a bit on the sluggish side with growing. As I mentioned a couple of days ago they had stopped growing at all for a couple of days, but they have started again, albeit slowly. The doctors would like to see them average 15-30 grams a day (about an ounce). Last week they averaged 7 grams a day. This is not a huge deal. No one is freaking out, but it is something to keep an eye on. The doctors are now giving them more food and sodium chloride (a.k.a. salt). Dr. Dawson told Mary Jane she would be amazed at what salt can do to help.
On the O2 they are weaning slowly but surely. Again, no one is overly worried right now because things are going in the right direction. The sooner they get off the O2 the better. The girls will likely have some type of chronic lung problem, but the sooner off the oxygen the better that tends to go.
